Let me show you Alaska, from a crab boat

I’ve been coming to Alaska for 10 years. I have had encounters with Bald Eagles every time. I’ve seen them attack people to the point of hospitalization. I’ve seen them knock people off cliff sides onto jagged rocks. I have even been in a fist fight with one in a parking lot.

Today however was the most impressive Bald Eagle display I have ever seen. While taking a crab boat loaded with tourists to a secret island in Alaska, I fed 60+ eagles as they swooped inches over our heads.

But the coolest thing was when 30 full grown bald eagles all caught a wind draft and hovered effortlessly, as if they were floating in thin air. This took place less than six feet away. You could reach out and pluck eagles from the sky!

This was the start to our Bering Sea Crab Fisherman’s Tour in Ketchikan Alaska. Earlier in the week I was assaulted by a 50 pound Pacific Giant Octopus.  The slippery creature wrapped up my legs to trip me and thought it would be a good idea to spit 5 gallons of water in my face. I’m sure that will make YouTube at some point.

Then we hauled up our King Crab pots, our Snow Crab pots, our Prawn pots and our Halibut gear!

I am finding tons of excitement in seeings the joy on peoples faces as they have these new and amazing experiences on our tour. It is such genuine happiness that it’s contagiousness can not be dodged!

This must be why we are rated the #1 tour in Ketchikan Alaska and in the top 10 world wide ‘MUST DO TOURS’ by the Cruise Lines.

If you are on your way to Ketchikan Alaska this summer, you really don’t want to miss this. It is hands down the best thing you can do around here and I will be there with you the whole way!

    You’re in good company!
My husband worked on the AB when she was still a workin’ girl, and we did a mini tour in Astoria here a few years ago.
Enjoy the job, I’m sure Bufie is taking good care of you!

    Hi Travis!

I was on the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman’s Tour on May 21st and it was truly one of the highlights of my trip! Not only was it amazing to hear the stories that you, David and Terry shared about your experiences at sea, but getting a chance to interact with creatures I would never see back home was unforgettable! The interaction with the Bald Eagles was especially amazing.

Thank you for making my trip to Ketchikan a memorable one! I hope to visit Alaska again very soon as I know there is still so much to discover in that beautiful state.

    Take care!

Thanks again for the wonderful eagle and crab encounters!

    Cheers!

Thank you so much for the greatest memory from Alaska. Forget all the princesses and characters on the Disney shipment, all Harper can talk about is that boat and all the amazing creatures we encounterd. We look through your book EVERY night before bed (thank you for signing it!) and I feel sorry for the other kids when they talk about what they did over summer vacation come Monday morning at school. It was the greatest and we sincerely appreciate all the time and entertainment and education. Best wishes on your future adventures! The Fryes
